LabStoRe is free open-source inventory management software designed to help laboratories better manage their stocks and records.
Product history
LabStoRe was created by Santosh Patnaik while working at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECoM) as an inventory and information system for laboratories as a means for saving time and reducing errors.[2] The first release of LabStoRe took place on April 27, 2005 as version 1.0.[1] Work continued steadily on the project throughout 2005 and into 2006. Around April 2006 LabStoRe hosting moved from AECoM to the Bioinformatics Organization — a group dedicated to hosting collaboration projects in the field of bioinformatics — under the guise of a new project called the PHP Project.[2][3][4] Since then development has been conducted alongside other open-source laboratory informatics products like LabWiki and OrderSys.

Hardware/software requirements
