PSS Polymer Standards Service GmbH develops and distributes software solutions for polymer research and characterization.
History
PSS Polymer Standards Service began operation in 1985 as an offshoot of chemical manufacturing efforts at University of Mainz, Germany.[1]
Agilent Technologies, Inc. acquired PSS Polymer Standards Service in September 2022, justifying the acquisition as being able to "enhance our offerings and ensure we deliver the broad spectrum of LC equipment, GPC/SEC analytics, and software our customers value."[2] As of December 2023, PSS Polymer Standards Service GmbH is still an active business[3], though the former PSS website now forwards to Agilent's site.
Technology and products
WinGPC
WinGPC—formerly WinGPC UniChrom[4]—is a chromatography data system (CDS) "that is specialized for gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and size exclusion chromatography (SEC) workflows and applications."[5] The software comes in several versions depending on user needs.
