Aside from promoting technologies, the trade association also supports and develops standards affecting bar code, radio frequency identification (RFID), and enterprise mobile computing technology.[1]
The "AIM" acronym initially stood for "automatic identification manufacturers," but it was changed to "automatic identification and mobility."[2]
