Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Russian: Московский Физико-Технический институт), known informally as PhysTech (Физтех), is a leading Russian university, originally established during the Soviet Union. It prepares specialists in theoretical and applied physics, applied mathematics, and related disciplines. The university enrolled 5,535 students, and it ranked fifth among Russian universities and 280 among "Best Global Universities in Europe" in U.S. News & World Reports 2016 rankings.[1]
