University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a public university in Birmingham, Alabama, United States. UAB offers 149 programs of study in 11 academic divisions leading to bachelor's, master's, doctoral, certificate, and professional degrees in the social and behavioral sciences, the liberal arts, business, education, engineering, and health-related fields such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, nursing, and public health.[1] The university enrolled more than 18,300 students, and it ranked 159 among national universities and 83 among "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]
