Marshall University is a public coeducational research university in Huntington, West Virginia, United States. The university was founded in 1837 and named after John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States. The university is currently composed of nine undergraduate colleges, three graduate colleges, and a regional center for cancer research, which has a national reputation for its programs in rural healthcare delivery. The university enrolled more than 13,600 students, and it ranked 47 among Southern regional universities and 16 in "Top Public Schools" in U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[1]
