Sample Inventory Program or SIP was free open-source laboratory informatics software designed to manage sample inventories. However, only one open-source release of the software was made in 2005, with no updates since.

Product history

Enfold Systems, Inc. started the Sample Inventory Program project on SourceForge on October 11, 2005,[2] followed by the first release of the software as version 1.0.2 on October 25.[1] SIP was originally built for the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (SFBR) under several grants, to be released as open-source software.[3]

No other releases of the software have been made. Enfold Systems indicated on their website a new version would be available in the first quarter of 2011, but no such public release seems to have been made.[3] The project is assumed to be dead.
