Expected result

The expected result, as defined by the United States Environmental Protection Agency via its SEDD Specification Version 5.2, is "the expected or theoretical result of an analyte that has been spiked into a sample aliquots or a standard at any time during the analysis process. The true value of an analyte in the sample analyzed or the expected or theoretical result of a purchased or prepared standard."[1]
