University of Minnesota (also University of Minnesota Twin Cities or U of M) is a public research university located in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, United States. The Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses are approximately 3 miles apart, and the Saint Paul campus is actually in neighboring Falcon Heights. The university is organized into 18 colleges and schools offering over 150 undergraduate and nearly 300 graduate and professional programs.[1] U of M is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 50,000 students, and it ranked 71 among national universities and 26 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
