ID Business Solutions Ltd. (doing business as IDBS) develops and distributes laboratory informatics software solutions.


History

The company was formally founded in August 1989.[1]

In June 2009, IDBS acquired InforSense, maker of enterprise business intelligence and reporting software.[2]

In April 2016, IDBS announced at the Bio-IT World Conference & Expo it would be deploying its solutions to the cloud, making them available via the software as a service (SaaS) distribution model.[3]

Awards and honors

IDBS received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the categories of International Trade and Innovation in 2003.[4]It also received the same International Trade award in 2011.[5]

The company was also awarded the 2010 Frost & Sullivan Enabling Technology of the Year award for best R&D knowledge management solution.[6]

Technology and products

E-WorkBook

E-WorkBook is an ELN that "provides a common view of data across disparate R&D areas, enabling complete visibility of research information, including instrument data, statistical analysis, graphical data and text-based content along with human observations."[7]

E-WorkBook for Biology (formerly BioBook until 2015[8]) is an ELN used to better manage data in bioanalysis, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic (PK-PD), drug safety, and toxicology research.[9]

E-WorkBook for Chemistry (formerly ChemBook until 2015[10]) is an ELN "that supports the comprehensive workflows of organic chemistry synthesis and provides industry-leading technology for molecular representation and reaction indexing."[11]

A SaaS-based version of E-WorkBook products was announced in April 2016.[3]
