University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) is a state-related (public-private hybrid) research university located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. The university also includes four undergraduate schools located at campuses within Western Pennsylvania: Bradford, Greensburg, Johnstown, and Titusville. The university is organized into 17 colleges, schools, and centers which offer more than 500 academic certificate and degree programs.[1] Pitt is classified as a research university with very high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 28,600 students, and it ranked 68 among national universities and 24 among "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
