University of Massachusetts Lowell (also known as UMass Lowell) is an urban public research university in Lowell, Massachusetts, United States and is part of the University of Massachusetts system. The university offers 122 undergraduate, 42 master’s, and 36 doctoral programs across its six colleges and schools.[1] UMass Lowell is classified as a research university with high research activity by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.[2] The university enrolled more than 17,000 students, and it ranked 152 among national universities and 78 in "Top Public Schools" according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[3]
