The company was formally founded in 2003 by biologist Edward Quilty.^[1]^[2]

In 2015, the company was ranked 38 among Deloitte’s fastest growing companies in Canada.^[3] The company itself stated revenues growth by 30 percent and a doubling of the company’s size to 80 people.^[2]

In November 2015, the company announced the transition of its AQUARIUS platform to hosted via the software as a service (SaaS) distribution model.^[4] In April 2016, the company announced an expansion of its AQUARIUS suite with the addition of its SaaS-based sample management add-on.^[5]
