Components
A LIMS must consist of the following components, either as one stand alone system, or as an integrated group of systems:
- Analyst personnel records/Training System
- Business Process/Workflow Management
- Client Relations Management
- Data analysis/manipulation
- Electronic Laboratory Notebook
- Instrument Control and Data Management (e.g., Chromatography Data Management System)
- Sample Tracking
- Scientific Data Management System
- Test Method/Procedure Management
- Test Result Tracking
- Standards management (Reference Standard, Working Standard, and other)
- Workload and Resource Management
