History
The company was founded in 1945 as a vegetable products business, before shifting focus to mechanical and software systems in the late 1970s. In 2003, the company created a new division called Wipro HealthScience to focus on the software side of health care management.[1]

Wipro HIS is a modular hospital information system (HIS) that also contains a laboratory information system (LIS) module, among others. The HIS is designed as a solution "that automates clinical, electronic medical records (EMR), administrative and inventory functions."[2]
