Labii, Inc. is an American software company headquartered in San Francisco, California that develops and distributes software as a service. Their software products include an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), laboratory information management system (LIMS), inventory management software, and scientific literature management tools.
History
Labii, LLC was formally founded in October 2014[1] by Yonggan Wu from Stanford University. On September 21, 2015, the company announced its Labii ELN was going into open beta testing.[2]
In November 2015, Labii LLC incorporated as Labii, Inc.[3], a C-Corporation, with founders Yonggan Wu and Corbin Chase from the University of California, San Diego. On March 1, 2016, the company announced the Labii suite platform was fully released and available for purchase.[4].
From May 2015 to August 2016, with the sponsorship of NSF Icorp, [5] Labii interviewed hundreds of researchers/managers from academic labs and industrial companies (across the United States) to understand the scientists' prospect in electronic lab notebook. With the valuable feedbacks, Labii released a new version of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN), known as Labii ELN 2.0 in March 2017 [6], a cross-disciplinary ELN that could not only document and manage research data easily, but also able to extract metadata and interpret the data to answer scientific questions.
