Krishagni Solutions Pvt. Ltd. develops and distributes clinical laboratory informatics software solutions.

History

Krishangi originally developed caTissue Plus, a free open-source biobanking LIMS/LIS heavily modeled after the National Cancer Institute's caLIMS product.[1] Krishagni also offered fee-based support services for the free software.

In late July, Krishangi revealed OpenSpecimen v1.0 as a rewrite of caTissue Plus, with the rewrite tentatively set to be complete by March 2015. "caTissue is a 10 year old code base. The design and architecture is old technology-based, difficult to maintain and add new featured [sic] on top of it."[2]

OpenSpecimen

OpenSpecimen is an open-source biobanking LIMS/LIS based upon its previous offering caTissue Plus. Both a free Community Edition and a priced Professional Edition of the software exist, with the various Pro versions including support, additional plug-ins, and remote hosting.[3]

Pricing

The Community edition is free and open-source and presumably available under the caBIG license. (The website doesn't clearly state if OpenSpecimen falls under a new license.)

Pricing for the Silver Professional version is $10,000, while the Gold Professional is $20,000. Pricing for the SaaS hosted Professional is not publicly available.
