Anandia Laboratories, Inc. performed chemical Cannabis laboratory testing for the country's various cannabis programs.[2]
History
The company was formally founded in November 2013.[3] In August 2018, Aurora Cannabis, Inc. acquired Anandia and integrated its plant science operations into Aurora's science team, "enabling Anandia to maintain independence as an analytical service provider."[4] In April 2019, Aurora also acquired Chemi Pharmaceutical, Inc., another licensed Canadian pharmaceutical and Cannabis analysis laboratory. It announced it would be integrating Chemi into its subsidiary Anandia Laboratories.[4]
In May 2022, news broke that parent Aurora Cannabis was shutting down its Anandia Laboratories subsidiary as a cost-cutting measure "to focus on our core cannabis business and will move to third-party testing," with an expected closure of June 2022.[1] By July 2022, the Anandia website began forwarding to the Aurora Cannabis site, and the closure was presumed to be complete.
