The company was officially founded in 1994.[2]
In July 2019, the company announced its Rainmaker picoliter volume dispensing device, the result of a collaboration with partners Applied Microarrays, Inc. and Engineering Arts, LLC.[3]

BioDot has a wide product line of automated dispensers, aspirators, cytogenetic systems, lamination systems, and cutters.
