Tennessee State University (Tennessee State or TSU) is a public land-grant university located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Founded in 1912, it is the largest and only state-funded historically black university in Tennessee. The school offers 77 programs across its eight undergraduate and graduate colleges and schools.[1] The university enrolled 9,167 students, and it ranked 22 among Historically Black Colleges and Universities according to U.S. News & World Report's 2016 rankings.[2]
