History

The company was formally founded in July 2017.[1]

In early 2019, a legal dispute between Green Leaf Lab, LLC and 2 River developed, with legal claims being flung from both sides. Green Leaf reportedly filed a lawsuit in January 2019 against 2 River and its lab director Renee Engle-Goodner (formerly a lab director at Green Leaf) claiming that Engle-Goodner misappropriated trade secrets and took them with her to 2 River, which is also Sacramento-based.[2] A cross-complaint was filed by Engle-Goodner in March alleging that Green Leaf intentionally altered potency numbered from Cannabis analyses to "increase business," maintained a hostile work environment, and wrongfully terminated her.[3]
