Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. (ACD/Labs) develops and distributes laboratory informatics and chromatography software solutions.
History
Advanced Chemistry Development, Inc. was founded on September 1, 1994.[1]
Sometime in late 2019 or in 2020, the company removed its Electronic Notebook for Academia from its website. In its place, it now references Spectrus DB—the core database module for its Spectrus chromatography platform—as an alternative.[2]
Former products
Electronic Notebook for Academia was an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) "with a searchable repository of experimental knowledge that stores live, interpreted analytical data that can be reviewed and re-analyzed at the desktop."[3]
ACD/ChromGenius was a CDS that "predicts retention times and chromatograms based on the structures of the compounds to be separated, and allows you to select the best generic separation method for your sample, prior to injection."[4] The software was officially retired in 2018 but was supported until September 2021. The functionality of the CDS was migrated to ACD/AutoChrom and Method Selection Suite.[4]
ACD/LC & GC Simulator was a chromatography tool that "applies Quality by Design (QbD) principles such as expanding design space, and multivariate optimization to help you optimize gradient and temperature to achieve optimal resolution of your separation during method development."[5] The software was officially retired in 2018 but was supported until 2021. The functionality of the software was migrated to ACD/Method Selection Suite.[5]
Technology and products
Chromatography software
ACD's chromatography options are as follows[6]:
ACD/AutoChrom is a workflow-based chromatography data system (CDS) that "helps experts develop chromatographic separations using QbD principles."[7]
ACD/ChemAnalytical Workbook is a CDS that "helps you centralize your analytical data" and "manage data from different techniques and formats."[8]
ACD/Method Selection Suite is described as "your software assistant for LC and GC method development," able to help you "develop methods using Quality by Design (QbD) principles, and make every experiment count."[9]
ACD/MS Workbook Suite is "an all-in-one package for MS data handling," including analysis and management of MS, LC/MS, and GC/MS data.[10]
ACD/Spectrus Processor is " a single software platform that processes and interprets all your spectrometric and spectroscopic data" and helps you "get answers from your data regardless of the instrument it was collected on."[11]
