Antek HealthWare, LLC developed and distributed medical billing and clinical laboratory informatics software solutions.

History

The company started in 1984 as Antek HealthWare, Inc., developing corporate database software solutions for Fortune 500 companies.[1] At some point in the early 1990s, Antek collaborated with Johns Hopkins University residents and other laboratory professionals to create LabDAQ, a laboratory information system marketed specifically towards the hospital and multi-site laboratory market segment.[1]

In the spring of 2005 the business reorganized as an LLC.[2][3] On May 24, 2007, Antek announced it had been acquired by Visionary Medical Systems, Inc. and would continue to operate as a subsidiary.[4]

On August 31, 2010, CompuGroup Medical AG announced it had acquired the Visionary Healthware Group, including Visionary Medical Systems and its holdings.[5][6] This prompted a long series of consolidation efforts in 2011, yielding mergers of other entities into Visionary Healthware and Antek HealthWare, ultimately resulting in both of those entities being absorbed into CompuGroups's U.S. entity "CompuGroup Medical Inc." on December 31, 2011.[7][2] As of May 2013, CompuGroup is still marketing the former Antek product LabDAQ.
