A method quality control sample is a sample suitable for reporting in sample plus method (e.g. laboratory control sample, method blank, matrix spike, etc.). Its matrix should be well defined. Results are normally reported in the same units (exceptions would include serial dilutions and post-digestion spikes) for associated regular samples. Method QC samples are a component of performance-based evaluation of analytical data.[1]
