Product history
The Traq project was started by software developer Jack Polgar. On January 7, 2009 a project page was started for the software on SourceForge[2], while a sister project was set up on GitHub a day earlier.[3] A month later version 0.1 of Traq was released on SourceForge as free open-source software.[1] Traq transitioned from version 0.6 to 2.0 on August 9, 2010 due to a complete rewrite of the code.[4][5] On June 6, 2011, Polgar publicly announced plans to move to a 3.0 version of Traq.[6] Alpha releases of version 3.0 began appearing on SourceForge in July 2012. Version 3.0 was released on January 26, 2013.[2]
On January 1, 2016, testing for Traq 4.0 Alpha was announced.[7]
