A reporting vendor is an entity (business, company, corporation, etc.) which develops software that has the primary goal of assisting with reporting applications in clinical, research, and business environments. The software may also include some functionality found in other laboratory informatics software, including that of a laboratory information management system (LIMS) or laboratory information system (LIS), but the software is marketed particularly as a reporting application and not a LIMS/LIS.
