The default setting of the other parameters will suit most purposes and give a consistent look and feel throughout Wikipedia.<br />

The three optional parameters are: (1) left, (2) boxsize, and (3) margin. The parameters "left" floats the portal box to the left of the article. The parameter box size, allows the editor to set the size of the box. The parameter margin allows the editor to control the margin around the portal box.<br />

For example, to left align the box with a 200px boxwidth with no margin:<br />
