The Open Hospital project began following a meeting between the founders of Informatici Senza Frontiere (ISF) — an Italian non-profit using information technology to help those living in poverty and marginalization — and Dr. Mario Marsiaj, a long-time coordinator for St. Luke Hospital in Angal, Uganda.
