			In the late 2010s, a new form of editing—visual editing—was enabled on this wiki, in conjunction with an automated citation tool that makes much of the above less vital to practice. (That being said, learning how citations work, as described above, still have value.) Now one simply needs to go to a non-template page and click the "edit" tab at the top of the page to enable visual editing. From there, a new toolbar appears at the top of the page, with a prominent "Cite" button. To use an automated citation ''when you have a valid and operational DOI or ISBN'', place your cursor in the text body where you want the citation to appear, click the Cite button, choose the "Automatic" tab, paste in your DOI or ISBN, and click "Generate." If the results can be retrieved, you'll see the tentative results of the entered DOI or ISBN; press "Insert" to add the citation. Afterwards, that citation can be edited by clicking the citation and then the "Edit" button. When all citations are added, be sure to "Save changes," found in the top right corner (desktop version). Additionally, the user can add a citation manually if no DOI or ISBN exists by choosing "Cite" > "Manual" and then choosing the citation type. From there, you can populate the fields manually, insert the citation, and save.
