A few days later, on April 9, the first public open-source release of ClinCapture was made available to the community<ref name="CCCommFirst" /><ref name="CCCommFirstTrac" /> under the GNU Lesser General Public License<ref name="CCGnu" />. Sometime in early 2017, the company removed reference to its free open-source ClinCapture software from its website. In early 2018, the company confirmed (in personal correspondence) that it "no longer offers free EDC."
