Lab-Ally develops and distributes the [[electronic laboratory notebook]] CERF, but also sells a range of other informatics solutions and scientific products including the RSpace ELN <ref name="RSpace">{{cite web |url=http://lab-ally.com/products/rspace-eln// | |title= RSpace - Electronic Lab Notebook |publisher=Lab-Ally LLC |accessdate=18 Nov 2014}}</ref>. and Qualoupe LIMS. Founded by Rob Day in 2013, Lab-Ally LLC attempts to position itself at the strategic nexus of many different types of modern research. Clients include universities, laboratories and biotechnology companies working in life science, biomedical, big pharma, environmental and informatics fields. Lab-Ally aims to provide assistance with every part of the research life cycle including the location of hard-to-find specimens and supplies, data collection and IP management (via selected ELN and LIMS software solutions), as well as the recruitment of CLIA certified CROs and other research service providers research organizations may need to complete their studies. Lab-Ally also has strategic partnerships with design and engineering partners who can help turn early stage technologies into marketable products. The Lab-Ally business model is to identify customer's scientific, data management or business bottlenecks, then connect those customers with complete solutions that can be provided by Lab-Ally, or by one of its partners.

The flagship CERF product was originally created by a team in Columbus, Ohio by [[Rescentris, Inc]]. In 2011 the company became [[ELN Technologies, Inc.]] and then [[irisnote, Inc.]] with a new leadership team and headquarters in California. ==Technology and products==

CERF is designed mainly for high compliance commercial labs and includes sophisticated semantic metadata tagging and search technologies, in-line data viewing, an iOS client, and true PKI digital signatures.

RSpace is the successor of the older eCAT ELN product and was designed by the makers of eCAT with input from Lab-Ally. Space is intended mainly for large academic, government and commercial enterprise deployments. Fast, simple, and easy to deploy, RSpace uses a browser to connect to the server, so there is no client software to download, install and learn. A free but storage limited public cloud version will be available to academic labs in 2015.
